Youth of the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC), Kaneshie, in Accra, joined other young people across the country to celebrate the 2026 National Youth Week in grand style to share God’s word and win more souls for Christ.
This year’s celebration, which brought together parents, children and other dignitaries to support the youth ministry for the week-long celebration, was on the theme, “Making Jesus famous everywhere”
It was a great moment of joy for members of the youth ministry as they engaged in several activities such as storming the streets to preach God’s word, house-to-house evangelism, Bible teachings on diligence and hard work, as well as panel discussions on love, sex and social media within the week.
During the climax of the celebration, the youth made bold fashion statements when they wore beautiful trendy styles of the church’s colourful youth cloth for the Thanksgiving Sunday service.
During the service, a majority of the youth could not hide their joy as they danced and made merry during the service, while others expressed thanks to God for another year of His goodness.
The youth enacted a play to encourage youngsters to be guided to use social media wisely and responsibly.
They also thrilled the congregation with choreography displays, song ministrations and prayers.
Message
A Resident Minister of the Abossey Okai Worship Centre, Pastor Fred Stephen Sarfo, in his sermon said making Jesus famous meant making Jesus known by everyone, and His influence should be felt in the world.
“Making Jesus famous is making Jesus popular.
This means in the church or marketplace, Jesus should be known.
In the mosque, Muslim schools and everywhere people gather, Jesus must be known there. It also means that everyone be allowed to encounter Him,” he explained.
He added that once one encountered Jesus, he or she would never remain the same and noted that Jesus had great influence on humanity; hence, making Him famous would impact a lot of lives.
Pastor Sarfo, who is also the Area Youth Pastor, therefore, encouraged the youth to spread the gospel and live holy lives wherever they found themselves to give others also the chance to experience the hand of Jesus.
"The world we find ourselves in has a lot of problems.
Systems are faulty.
Nations are full of wickedness.
The only person who can give hope to this world is Jesus.
Jesus has given us grace and power, and that grace and that power need to impact lives.
The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his knowledge.
Making Jesus famous in the world is making the knowledge and glory of God fill the world,” he said.
