Immanuel Temple donates to Motherly Love Orphanage

Immanuel Temple, an assembly of the Royalhouse Chapel International at East Legon in Accra, has donated food and other essential items to the Motherly Love Orphanage at Kwabenya in the Greater Accra Region.

The items presented included bags of rice and sugar, cooking oil, crates of eggs, drinks, biscuits and other food supplies. The donation formed part of activities marking the 10th anniversary of the assembly.

The delegation spent time with the children, interacted with them and prayed with them.

The visit also formed part of activities marking the 40th wedding anniversary of the founder of Royalhouse Chapel International, Apostle General Sam Korankye Ankrah, and his wife, Apostle Rita Korankye Ankrah.

The delegation was led by the Senior Pastor of Immanuel Temple, Apostle Derek Amanor, and his wife, Rev. Dela Amanor.

Apostle Amanor, who is also the General Secretary of Royalhouse Chapel International, said the visit was an opportunity for members to fellowship with the children and offer practical support to the home.

“We had a very wonderful experience with them, praying for them and speaking into their lives,” he said.

He called on other organisations and individuals to support the orphanage to enable it to meet the needs of the children.

“We hope and pray that other organisations will also follow suit,” he added.

Challenges

The Chief Executive of the Motherly Love Orphanage, Rev. John Azumah, expressed appreciation for the donation but said feeding remained the biggest challenge confronting the home.

“Feeding is the number one challenge,” he said.

He said the orphanage also needed assistance with school fees, books, medication and clothing for the children.

Rev. Azumah said seven of the children were currently in the university, while 15 were in senior high school. The others were in junior high and primary schools.

He said the orphanage was operating from rented premises and needed support to complete a permanent shelter for the children.

He listed cement, iron rods, sand and stones among the materials required for the project.

Special needs

Rev. Azumah explained that the orphanage was established to provide shelter and care for children with special needs.

He commended Immanuel Temple for the gesture, saying the donation would go a long way to support the welfare of the children.

He also acknowledged the contribution of the President General of the Royal Ladies Ministries, Rev. Mrs Rita Korankye Ankrah, to initiatives aimed at empowering women in the country.
