GCB PLC donates food items to Chief Imam

GCB Bank PLC has donated assorted food items and GH¢100,000 to the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Usmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, towards the Ramadan festivities.

The items included 100 packs of rice, 20 bags of rice, 15 bags of sugar, 15 gallons of oil, 40 packs of dates and two bags of beans.

The presentation was made at the residence of the National Chief Imam in Accra last Friday.

The Managing Director of GCB Bank PLC, John Kofi Adomakoh, who led the delegation from the bank stated that it had become part of the bank’s tradition to support and pay homage to the Chief Imam during the holy month.

He said the items presented were the institution’s way of supporting the Chief Imam in fulfilling his duties and seeking blessings from Allah for the staff, management, shareholders and the company, with the country as the key focus.

Mr Adomakoh noted that GCB staff members were made up of individuals of varied religions, including Islam.  

He said, it was important as Muslims to utilise the time to reflect on the past and envision the future with the guidance of Prophet Mohammed's teachings.

He assured of the bank’s continuous support to the Chief Imam during and after the fasting month.

Mr Adomakoh requested the Chief Imam's prayers in seeking Allah's intervention to ensure the appointment of a capable leader to steer the company in its mission.

Appreciation

The Chief Imam expressed his profound gratitude to the bank for recognising and assisting him to handle the huge responsibilities on his shoulders.

Sheikh Sharubutu prayed for Allah’s blessing and divine intervention in the lives of staff members and the future of the bank.

He also prayed for the sustenance of peace and tranquillity for the nation, emphasising the need for the continuous peaceful coexistence between Christians and Muslims in the country.
