Murder of Hussein-Suale Ahmed: What the police know so far

The Accra Regional Police Command has appealed to the public to volunteer information that would lead to the arrest of the suspected killers of Ahmed Hussein-Suale, an investigative journalists with Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ Tiger Eye PI.

They have also mounted a manhunt for the unknown assailants who were said to have been riding an unregistered motorbike.

In an interview with Graphic Online, the Public Relations Officer of the Accra Regional Police Command, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mrs Effia Tenge said the police control room received information at about 10pm on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 about the shooting.

Two unknown men allegedly shot the associate of the private investigative firm, Tiger Eye PI, while he was driving near the Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Madina Estate, in the Greater Accra region.

When a police patrol team went to the scene they found Ahmed in a BMW saloon car with registration number AS 1928-Q with bullet wounds on him.

According to Mrs Tenge, an eyewitness told the police that Ahmed was shot three times through the driver's side of the car. 

She said Ahmed was taken to the Pentecost Hospital, Madina for treatment but he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Police Hospital mortuary awaiting autopsy. 

She said the police retrieved three empty shells from the scene while the BMW saloon car has also been impounded for investigation.
