Bury differences for good of nation — Rev. Frimpong-Manso
The President of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), Rev Prof Paul Frimpong-Manso, has urged all Ghanaians, especially political leaders, to put aside their political ideologies and work together for the good of the nation.
He was speaking at the climax of celebrations marking the golden jubilee of the GPCC, dubbed, “Celebrating 50 years of Pentecostal Influence”, in Accra last Wednesday.

Ghana needs unity
According to the man of God, Ghana needs to stay united in order to enable the country achieve its goal.
He said there were lots of talent in the country that could be explored for its development but without unity these could be wasted.
“Whether a party is in power or opposition it is important that diverse ideas and opinions are incorporated to build the nation.
“It is time that we threw away our parochial personal interest and feelings and ideologies and worked together for the good of the country. Let’s think about things that will promote unity and move the nation forward,” Rev Frimpong-Manso stated.
He said corruption was a canker plaguing the nation but it could be stopped.
Corruption disrupts development
According to him, “majority of our political office holders are Christians so if there is corruption going on in our society, it means Christians are playing a big part in it.”
He urged Christians to abhor and stop engaging in corrupt acts, adding “let’s portray the nature of Christ at our work places and wherever we find ourselves.”
Similarly, Rev Dr Charles Agyinasare admonished Christians to renew themselves and exhibit the character traits of Christ.
According to him, 50 was a very significant number and in the holy scriptures, “it means jubilee and in the year of jubilee people were released from bandage. And so its a season when we are ushered into a new era for our lives to change for the better.”
GPCC commended for good works
In a speech read on behalf of the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, he said the GPCC had been very instrumental in the country’s development and that its activities had impacted positively on the people.
According to the President, GPCC offered Godly counsel in moments of decision making which had helped in stabilising the country.
“I am grateful for your views and counsel on matters affecting the country,” he said.
He commended the council for providing social amenities such as schools, hospitals and potable water for communities in the country.
As part of activities marking the climax of it’s golden jubilee, GPCC commissioned about five hand-pumped boreholes in five communities across the country.
The beneficiary communities were Tokali in Upper West, Adaklu and Torda in Volta and Twifo Wamasi in the Central Region.
Other communities included Kanjarga-Musidema in the Upper East and Kwankwandaan in the North-East Region.
