3 journalists charged with stealing over Modern Ghana brouhaha discharged

The Accra High Court has discharged three journalists who were charged with stealing over the Modern Ghana brouhaha.

Emmanuel Ajafor Abugri, the editor of Modern Ghana, an online media platform, Emanuel Britwum, a journalist of Modern Ghana and Emmanuel Obeng Manu, a journalist at Peace FM, were charged with stealing and unlawfully accessing electronic records.

The three were dragged to the court Friday at about 1:30 pm, but in a surprise move, the prosecutor, Stella Ohene Appiah, a Senior State Attorney, moved an application to discontinue with the case.

According to her, the state did not intend to pursue the case any longer.

In view of that the presiding judge, Justice Afia Serwah Asare-Botwe discharged the accused persons and struck out the case as withdrawn.
