Fynn-Codjoe Foundation presents 2300 books to Eguafo Abrem SHS

A Cape Coast based businessman and philanthropist, Mr Anthony Fynn Codjoe has presented 2,300 books worth GH¢32,000 to the Eguafo Abrem Senior High School in the Komenda Edina Eguafo Abrem Municipality of the Central region.

The books include Self search for Every Student book, and books in Arts, Business, Information and Technology, Science and Vocational Studies.

Presenting the books on Wednesday, Mr Fynn-Codjoe, said the Fynn-Codjoe Foundation was committed to helping build young people to become valuable assets to their communities and Ghana as a whole.

He advised the students not to relent in their studies but to be confident and to study hard to achieve their goals adding that while government and individuals were working to provide them with the needed environment to excel it behoves them to work hard to achieve their life’s aspirations.

The Chairman of the Board of Governors of the school, Mr Solomon Boamah expressed gratitude to Mr Fynn-Codjoe and advised the students to make good use of the books.

Dying reading habits

He was worried that many young people have failed to develop reading habits because they were lazy or did not have access to the books.

He said they had no excuse not to develop their read habits to so many books and urged to make time to read adding that reading made one knowledgeable and confident.

The Acting Headmaster of the School, Mr Ebenezer Obeng, thanked the Fynn-Codjoe Foundation for the gesture, saying the books would support the students and teachers and impact positively on teaching and learning.
