The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has appealed to the public for assistance in locating the relatives of a deceased Ghanaian national, Solomon Apia, who passed away on July 5, 2021 in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
In a public announcement issued on October 28, the Ministry said Mr Apia reportedly lived and worked in Nigeria for over 15 years, where a construction company, Stabilini Visinoni Ltd, employed him as a cleaner.
Available information indicates that Mr Apia was born on March 6, 1960, in Accra. He was married, stood approximately 5 feet 3 inches tall, and attended a Methodist primary school in Ghana.
Documents and information retrieved from his phone suggest that he may have had relations or acquaintances by the names of Mr Steven Yeboah, Mr Wisdom Nanor, Nana, and Eva. The Ministry provided contact numbers associated with these names, as well as a Nigerian telephone number reportedly used by Mr Apia before his demise.
The Ministry said it would be grateful if anyone with information about Mr Apia's relatives, or who can help trace his next of kin, could contact the Ministry's Information and Public Affairs Bureau.
