The suspect, Abudu Abass, is said to have refused to share the food with his elder brother,  Alhassan Abass, 46, with whom, according to neighbours at Asankrom, Abass was not on good terms.

Asankrom is a suburb of Bogoso in the Prestea-Huni Valley District in the Western Region.

According to police sources, in the course of hot exchanges that ensued between the two, Alhasan picked a pot on a fire and threw it at the suspect, an action which resulted in a serious fight between them.

The sources said Abudu, who was in an aggressive mood, grabbed a knife and stabbed Alhassan in the abdomen.

That, they said, resulted in Alhassan’s intestines gushing out.

They said Alhassan was rushed to the Tarkwa Government Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Abudu is currently in police custody pending police investigations.
