Fetish priest kills one, injures two others

Nana Kwame Eduful popularly known as Nana Obotuo, a fetish at Gomoa Obuasi in the central region, is in the grip of the Agona Swedru Police for killing one of his clients and injuring two others who went to him to perform rituals for them to get rich.

The deceased, Ibrahim Adams, 42, and his two other friends, Kwame Justice, 28, and Thomas Donkoh,42, according to information gathered, had paid an undisclosed amount to the fetish priest some months ago for him perform some rituals so that they could be rich.

However, the victims who had waited for a long while and had not seen any signs of getting rich together stormed the residence of Nana Obotuo last Thursday to demand a refund of their money.

The fetish priest in the course of the exchanges entered his room, pulled a single barreled shotgun and fired at the victims, killing Adams instantly with the two others sustaining gunshot wounds.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Swedru hospital morgue while the injured are receiving treatment at the same hospital.

The Agona Swedru District Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police Anthony Nana Ekow Yawson, told the Daily Graphic that around 12:30pm on Thursday, Thomas with gunshot wounds made a report at the Gomoa Obuasi that he together with Adams and Kwame Justice went to the fetish priest for their money after a failed spiritual assistance.

He said there arose a misunderstanding between them in the course of the exchanges and the fetish priest pulled a gun and shot at the victims resulting in the death of one of them.

According to him, the police quickly moved to the scene and found Adams lying dead on the floor while Kwame Justice was also spotted seriously injured.
