The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), with support from the Ghana Police Service, has shut down an unlicensed production facility in Senfi Bekwai in the Ashanti Region linked to Unni Associates Company Limited, producers of Arcan Bitters.
The enforcement action followed reports that production of Arcan Bitters continued in defiance of an earlier FDA directive to cease operations.
During the operation, the enforcement team detained 1,580 cartons of finished products, 5,000 empty bottles, and 23 barrels of bulk alcohol.
The FDA remains resolute in enforcing regulatory compliance to safeguard public health and safety.
