Under the leadership of Pastor Gideon Danso and organized by the Empowerment Care Foundation, the event brought together individuals from Teshie and surrounding communities, including Tse Addo, Baatsonaa, Nungua, and Spintex, who began arriving as early as 2am.

LifeCheck 2024 offered a wide range of free medical services, including eye care, dental care, ultrasound scans, minor surgeries, and essential medications. The outreach also provided laboratory testing for conditions such as hepatitis B, malaria, prostate issues, typhoid, and blood sugar levels. Approximately 500 people were registered for the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) at no cost. Additionally, a blood donation drive saw over 50 pints collected for the National Blood Bank.

The event's Back-to-School initiative distributed over 100,000 exercise books, 4,000 school bags, and various stationery items to more than 11,000 children. Over 5,200 pairs of shoes were also gifted to children, and nearly 100 kids received free haircuts. More than 10,000 families were provided with free meals throughout the day.

Pastor Danso described LifeCheck as EWC’s way of “being the arms and feet of Jesus,” with this year’s theme, *Compassion to Make a Difference*, taken from Jude 1:22, reflecting the dedication of the volunteers and medical personnel who served the community. A total of 500 EWC volunteers and over 100 medical professionals participated in LifeCheck 2024.

Since its inception a decade ago, LifeCheck has made a significant impact, providing medical care to over 28,000 individuals, feeding more than 52,000 people, and distributing back-to-school supplies to over 32,000 children. This year’s turnout exceeded the target of 15,000 attendees.

The one-day event, which took place on Saturday, September 28, concluded at 4pm, marking another successful year of outreach for the Empowerment Care Foundation.
