Facts

According to the prosecution, led by Chief Inspector Alex Odame, around 8:30 a.m. last Sunday, Opoku, who is a driver at Fomesua, parked his Urvan mini bus at an unlawful place at Ejisu.

He was allegedly approached by two officers of the Ejisu Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) to move the bus to allow for the free flow of traffic, but he would not heed to the instruction.

The prosecutor said after several pleas from police officers, including the District Police Commander, Chief Superintendent of Police Mr La Baman, for Poku to move the bus or allow for it to be towed to the station, he finally drove to the station himself.

He said drama unfolded minutes later when Poku was asked to go behind the counter to allow for investigations to begin.

According to Chief Inspector Odame, the convict insulted the officers, invoked a curse from the powerful ‘Antoa’ deity, damaged the metal cell door and physically assaulted the commander.

He was later overpowered and detained.
