The newly consecrated presbyters, comprising 14 males and 12 females, undertook a one-year training in church administration and leadership, stewardship duties and liturgical rites.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Moderator of the General Assembly of the E.P Church, Ghana, Rt Rev. Francis Amenu, called on the Christian community and other faith-based organisations to collaborate in preaching against social injustice, corruption and indiscipline that seemed to retard the growth and development of the country.

He also urged politicians to stop the blame game, acts of undermining, insults and the use of indecent language on public platforms that had the tendency of deepening the polarisation of the country.

He called on the presbyters to serve as dedicated stewards and uphold virtues of morality required of them as ambassadors of Christ and promote the church as a sacred institution.

The Presbyter Executive of the E.P Church General Assembly, Mr Jonas Dzodzodzi, urged presbyters in the church to eschew acts of arrogance and undermining but rather establish a harmonious working relationship with pastors while discharging their stewardship responsibilities in a spirit of humility and dedication.

The Head Pastor of the E.P Church, Abelenkpe District, Rev. Emmanuel Antwi-Tumfuor, urged the newly consecrated presbyters to be guided by their key functions of counselling, visitation of the sick and the aged and promoting a favourable transformation in the church.
