Docutech MD urges businesses to invest strategically in technology

Managing Director of Docutech Ghana, Jean-Louis Feghali, has urged businesses to make strategic technology investments that enhance productivity, improve operational efficiency and strengthen competitiveness.

According to him, artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, cybersecurity and digital transformation had become integral to modern business operations.

He challenged business leaders to ensure that investments in technology delivered measurable value, stressing that spending heavily on digital infrastructure and security did not automatically translate into operational efficiency.

"We are delighted to bring together leaders from different industries to exchange ideas and discuss the future of technology in Ghana. We are living in a world with rapid technological changes. The organization must continuously adopt all these technologies to remain relevant, to remain compliant, and to remain competitive," he said.

Event

Mr Feghali was speaking at Docutech’s Future of Work 2026, a flagship event organised by Docutech Ghana Ltd in Accra on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, under the theme “Empowering Intelligent Organizations: People, Technology and Transformation.”

The event brought together technology leaders and industry professionals for discussions on cybersecurity and governance, chief information officers’ perspectives, live technology demonstrations and AI-ready hybrid infrastructure.

Dignitaries and speakers included Director-General of the Cyber Security Authority, Dr Divine Selase Agbeti, who delivered the keynote address; Sylvester Apedeo, Group Head of IT at Omni Bsic Bank; Samuel Dakurah, CIO at First National Bank; Kwame Sam Biney, Digital Technology Leader at AngloGold Ashanti; Jacqueline Hanson-Kotei, OPCO Security Lead at MTN Ghana; Elikplim Kitsikpui, Digital Technology Consulting Lead at EY; and Joe Alhassan Fuseini, General Manager of Docutech Ghana.

Practical solutions

Mr Feghali said platforms such as the event were essential for industry leaders to exchange ideas, explore emerging technologies and identify practical solutions to business challenges.

"Now, as leaders, and most of you are leaders, whether you are head of ITs or whether you are leaders in your organization, the challenge is to ensure that whatever investment you make improves the productivity, the efficiency, and creates value in your business," he said.

He stated that Docutech Ghana had expanded beyond its traditional printing and document management services to provide a broad range of IT solutions, including enterprise infrastructure, networking, data management, cloud computing and cybersecurity.

To support businesses in modernising their operations, he said the company was introducing flexible acquisition and financing options, including leasing arrangements for computing devices, data centres and, in some cases, software.

Mr Feghali reaffirmed Docutech’s commitment to building long-term partnerships with businesses by assessing their needs and designing and deploying technology solutions suited to their operations.

"Our objective is to continue to be a trusted, long-term technology partner for businesses in Ghana."

Building AI-ready infrastructure

Docutech’s technology partners Lenovo, NetApp, Nutanix and Fortinet shared insights into modern compute, storage, hyperconverged infrastructure, networking and security solutions.

Their presentations explored how these technologies can help organisations build AI-ready environments and innovate securely and confidently.

Continuous cybersecurity and compliance

Docutech’s cybersecurity arm, DigiAlert, also introduced CISOGenie, a platform designed to help organisations maintain year-round compliance with Ghanaian requirements, including the Bank of Ghana’s Cyber and Information Security Directive, the Cyber Security Authority’s requirements under Act 1038, and the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), as well as more than 40 international frameworks through a single control set.

Building resilience

Delivering the keynote speech, Cyber Security Authority boss Dr Divine Selase Agbeti called on businesses to strengthen their cybersecurity systems and build resilience against cyber threats, warning that digital transformation without adequate security measures could undermine public trust and business operations.

He said Ghana recorded 3,876 cybersecurity incidents between January and July 2026, with 1,818 cases, representing approximately 47 per cent, linked to online fraud.

Dr Agbeti said digital trust was essential to Ghana’s economic transformation, as confidence in digital services encouraged adoption, supported business growth and improved service delivery.

He noted that while artificial intelligence (AI) offered opportunities to improve customer service, forecast demand and detect fraudulent transactions, its misuse could facilitate impersonation, generate deceptive content and expose confidential information.

He urged technology leaders to prioritise responsible and secure AI adoption to ensure that innovation strengthened rather than undermined public confidence.

Dr Agbeti emphasised the need for organisations to develop cyber resilience, explaining that cybersecurity measures could not prevent every attack.

He said businesses must be able to anticipate risks, protect critical assets, detect suspicious activities, respond effectively to incidents and recover quickly.

He encouraged organisations to identify critical systems, secure backups, test recovery plans and clarify responsibilities for managing cyber incidents, while also assessing risks associated with suppliers and technology partners.

He said collaboration among government institutions, businesses and technology partners was essential to building a secure, innovative and resilient digital economy.

End-to-end IT solutions

Docutech Ghana’s General Manager, Joe Alhassan Fuseini, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to providing end-to-end information technology (IT) solutions to help businesses improve productivity, efficiency and value for money.

He said the company offered services spanning print and document management, computing devices, cybersecurity, software and IT infrastructure.

He also mentioned that Docutech served more than 400 regular clients and emphasised that its approach focused on providing tailored solutions rather than simply supplying equipment.

Mr Fuseini highlighted the company’s expertise in document digitisation, workflow automation, cybersecurity assessments and IT infrastructure management, noting that its service systems helped clients achieve uptime levels of between 95 and 98 per cent in some accounts.

He urged businesses to prioritise reliable technology partners that provide proper warranties, technical support and long-term value.
