A dispute between a 58 year-old businessman and his 42 year-old girlfriend over the ownership of a building they jointly acquired after the relationship turned sour, has resulted in the death of the man.
The deceased Kwaku Duah until his death was cohabitating with Alice Brako, a revenue collector at the East Akyem Municipal Assembly together with Kwaku Derrick Twum, alias Kuu, son of Alice at New Nsutam.
He was allegedly butchered by Twum and three others.

So far Alice and one of the alleged killers, Kelvin Boateng had been arrested while three others, including Twum are on the run while the body of the deceased had been deposited at the Government Hospital, Kibi for autopsy.
According to the Eastern Regional Police Commander, DCOP Kwabena Dwamerah-Yeboah, Alice allegedly gave GH3,000 to Twum to hire four others from Koforidua to kill Duah. The gruesome incident occurred last Saturday, January 27 at about 11.30 a. m.
He said the two former lovebirds jointly acquired the building which they hired part out to the Adonteng Community Bank while they stayed in the other part with Derrick Twum.
He stated that sometime last year (2012), a misunderstanding arose between the couple as to who actually owns the building.
He said the argument over the ownership of the property continued till last Saturday, January 26 when Alice allegedly gave GH 3,000 to Derrick Twum to hire three others from Koforidua to kill Duah.
DCOP Dwamerah-Yeboah stated that Alice later hid the four alleged killers in one of the rooms and that at about 11 a. m. on Saturday, January 27 when Duah unknowingly entered the room, he was immediately attacked by the men who inflicted multiple cutlass wounds on his neck, hands and legs, killing him instantly.
Duah’s screams for help, DCOP Dwamerah-Yeboah stated attracted neighbours to the scene who spotted Kelvin Boateng, scaling over the wall of the house and he was arrested.
The Regional Police Commander said during preliminary investigations, Boateng told the police that he and the three others were hired by Alice and her son for GH 3,000 to kill Duah so that she could take possession of the building.
He said efforts were being made to apprehend those on the run.
