Dispute over house ownership - Woman hires men to kill boyfriend

He said the two former lovebirds jointly acquired the building which they hired part out to the Adonteng Community Bank while they stayed in the other part with Derrick Twum.

He stated that sometime last year (2012), a misunderstanding arose between the couple as to who actually owns the building.

He said the argument over the ownership of the property continued till last Saturday, January 26 when Alice allegedly gave GH 3,000 to Derrick Twum to hire three others from Koforidua to kill Duah.

DCOP Dwamerah-Yeboah stated that Alice later hid the four alleged killers in one of the rooms and that at about 11 a. m. on Saturday, January 27 when Duah unknowingly entered the room, he was immediately attacked by the men who inflicted multiple cutlass wounds on his neck, hands and legs, killing him instantly.

Duah’s screams for help, DCOP Dwamerah-Yeboah stated attracted neighbours to the scene who spotted Kelvin Boateng, scaling over the wall of the house and he was arrested.

The Regional Police Commander said during preliminary investigations, Boateng told the police that he and the three others were hired by Alice and her son for GH 3,000 to kill Duah so that she could take possession of the building.

He said efforts were being made to apprehend those on the run.
