Deputy Agric Minister William Quaitoo resigns
The Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Mr William Quaitoo has resigned from his post following accusations that he made ethnocentric comments against people from the north.

His decision to tender his resignation was confirmed by the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Mr Eugene Arhin Tuesday evening.
"The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, this evening accepted the resignation from office of the Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Hon. William Quaitoo, MP, which takes immediate effect."
"The President wished him the very best in his future endeavours," Mr Arhin posted on Facebook.
It will be recalled that on Monday, the Minority in Parliament condemned Mr William Quaitoo, who is also the Member of Parliament for Akim Oda for describing people from the Northern regions of the country as "difficult people".
The Minority in their statement also demanded the immediate resignation of Mr Quaitoo as a Deputy Minister.
Mr Quaitoo went on to issue an apology for his “unguarded” comments.
He made the comments in a radio interview wtih Accra-based Starr FM, when he was discussing the impact of fall army worms on farms in the Northern Region.
