Delta Agro Limited supports Interior Ministry in COVID-19 campaign

The management of Delta Agro Limited, a leading local manufacturer of soap, antiseptic liquids and detergents has presented quantities of items to the Ministry of Interior as part of its support to the government's management of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

At a ceremony in Accra yesterday, the company presented 135 cartons of Maram antibacterial soap and Maram antiseptic liquid to the ministry to help in the efforts by agencies under the ministries to manage the health crisis.

Yesterday's ceremony follows similar donations made the company to nine other institutions and medical facilities to support the campaign against the COVID-19 crisis.

Making the presentation, the Marketing Executive of Delta Agro Limited, Mr Mohammed Al-Roz, said the prevention of COVID-19 was a joint effort by the government and private sector, and as a socially responsible company, they deemed it necessary to complement the government's effort by donating such items which required for regular and proper regular hand washing with disinfectant soap under running water.

“Some of the institutions under your ministry play important roles in this campaign against the spread of coronavirus, and Delta Agro Limited is also committed to this campaign because it's a shared responsibility.

“We believe our products will go a long way to contribute towards improvement of hygiene and disinfecting of the environment as we all join hands together to fight his coronavirus pandemic,” Mr Al-Roz said.

He was accompanied by Messrs Feres Gerges, Business Development Manager of Delta Agro Limited and Kennedy Delali Agbekoh, Marketing Officer of the company, and Mrs Nafisa Fattal.

The Chief Director of the Interior Ministry, Mrs Adelaide Anoo-Kumi, who received the items on behalf of the sector minister, expressed her gratitude to Delta Agro Limited for the gesture and called on the public to support the government's campaign by adhering to protocols like regular hand washing, avoiding handshake, social distancing, among others.

Also present at the ceremony were Messrs Dominic Afriyie Agyemang (Deputy Director of Migration), Kwesi Assan Brew (Director of Finance and Administration) and Abdulai Mumuni Bawumia, Special Advisor to the minister.
