Cosmo Seafoods supports Tema police to enforce lockdown

COSMO Seafoods Company Limited, manufacturers of canned tuna in Tema, has presented some of its products to the Tema Regional Headquarters of the police to assist the lockdown task forces within the Tema and Ashaiman metropolis.

The presentation is in response to the President’s call on companies and individuals to support in the fight against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The company estimates the canned tuna products donated at GH¢21,452.

One of the company’s shareholders, Panofi Company Limited - Tema, also donated 60 cases of canned tuna products to health workers, mainly doctors and nurses, on the frontline of the management of COVID-19 at the Tema General Hospital.

Commitment
“We are by these donations assuring our communities of our commitment and support to the fight against this coronavirus pandemic. Let’s stay safe and follow all World Health Organisation (WHO) measures in ensuring our survival during these perilous times,” the General Manager of Cosmo Seafoods, Mr Myung Son said.

He used the opportunity to thank President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Ghanaians for their resolve to fight the coronavirus.

Mr Myung urged everybody to take all the directives from the President seriously.

For his part, the Head of Human Resource of the company, Mr Lawrence Setsoafia called on Ghanaians not to leave the fight to defeat the deadly disease to the government alone, but shelve their political, religious and social affiliations to ensure that “we succeed in the fight against this deadly pandemic.”

Receiving the items on behalf of the police, the Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Mr Edward Johnson Akrofi-Oyirifi thanked the company for the response to the President’s call.

He said the items would go a long way to boost the morale of his men and women to perform their duties diligently.
