CID probes corruption allegations against two deputy chiefs of staff
The Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service has began investigations into corruption allegations against the two deputy chiefs of staff by hiplife musician Kwame A Plus and the New Patriotic Party's Member of Parliament for Assin North, Kennedy Agyapong.

According to the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Mr Eugene Arhin, the two have been contacted to provide evidence for their corruption allegations against Mr Francis Asenso-Boakye and Mr Samuel Abu Jinapor.
“I know for a fact that as of yesterday (Tuesday), the CID made contact with A-Plus and Kennedy Agyapong with regard to the allegations they made against the two deputies of the chief of staff," he told Accra-based radio station, Joy FM Wednesday morning.

Confirming the invitation on the same platform, A Plus said “I feel they are corrupt that is why I am going to give evidence… I have been invited to give evidence and so I will go there and tell them".
"We are fortunate to have a president like Nana Addo who has called for investigations even when it has only been alleged. He said investigate so everybody can sleep peacefully. The president has called for an investigation. This is what we voted for,” he added.
A Plus in a Facebook post last Saturday expressed his displeasure with the two while commending President Akufo-Addo’s achievements seven months into his tenure of office.
In the post, A Plus described the two as corrupt but failed to list their crimes.
“…7 months of NPP government. So far so good except appointing some very corrupt official including the two very ... deputy chief of staff. It’s amazing how Nana was able to appoint two ... Arrogant and corrupt ... You think you’ll be in power forever. Even John Mahama I was not afraid of him then you [sic],” A-Plus said in the post.

A Plus said however that he has apologised to the President and the two deputy chiefs of staff for the kind of language and choice of medium he used to express his dissatisfaction with the two.
“There are certain language that I used that were very wrong...not to the president of course, but to the people that I was referring to. We have to try as much as possible to be civil. I have apologised about how I put it. I have apologised to the president for the method, to the people themselves, I think that we don’t have to use certain languages,” he said.
