Chobi Ghana donates items to Ghana Cocobod to fight COVID-19

Chobi Ghana, producers and suppliers of agro inputs has donated 1,000 N95 mask and eight handheld thermometers to the staff and management of the Ghana Cocobod to boost their fight against the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Presenting the masks, the CEO of Chobi Ghana, Mr Johnson Lee, said his organisation believed that the staff and management of Cocobod must be protected from the virus so that they would continue to successfully steer the affairs of the cocoa industry in this troubling times.

He said since cocoa remained the backbone of the Ghanaian economy it was necessary that measures were put in place to ensure that after the virus had been defeated, the industry would be put back on track and noted that the health of the staff of Cocobod who would steer that must be protected.

“In the midst of Covid-19 pandemic, the world has come to almost a halt. Nevertheless, we should prepare for the post crisis. Cocoa industry being back bone of Ghana's economy, where millions of lives depend on, we should continue with the farming and other activities”, he added.

He said it was for that reason that the company donated the mask and thermometers to support their protective activities.  

Cocobod

Receiving the items, the Deputy Director in-charge of Operations at the Cocobod, Dr Emmanuel Opoku, commended the company for their show of support and gave the assurance that management would commit the item to good use.

Chobi Ghana has been supplying Natural Organic Fertilizers and Coco Ahoden to farmers via Cocobod since 2016. We believe protecting the cocoa value chain to be essential to wellbeing of Ghanaian farmers and for that matter to our business. We will take every measure to fight against the spread of virus because we all are in this together.
