Brussels Airlines give to Kinder Paradise

Brussels Airlines, a member of the Lufthansa Group and the leading Belgian Airline, have donated clothes to Kinder Paradise at Prampram in the Greater Accra Region as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Brussels Airlines presented the clothes to Kinder Paradise, a children’s home for orphans, vulnerable, street children, traffic children and the abused last Friday during a visit to the venue.

In presenting the items in collaboration with the Impact Week to the home which house 69 inmates, Rita Macedo, Country Manager of Brussels Airlines, noted that her company’s decision to offer support to the home which also offers basic educational cover for children forms part of her outfit’s B.Foundation.

She explained that being part of the Lufthansa Group, it was in their interest to continue supporting Kinder Paradise in order to give the underprivileged children the chance to have an education and decent accommodation.

“This forms part of our Corporate Social Responsibility and we want to continue supporting the school with these clothes as ways to help give hope to the vulnerable and orphans in the society.

“We believe supporting them in this way would give these underprivileged children the chance to chance to have decent accommodation and education,” she said.

Background

Kinder Paradise has been in existence for 21 years through the support of donors and sponsors over the years.

It has 69 resident inmates at its home at Prampram with others from the township joining them during school hours.

The school which was formed by German Silke Roesner has over the years collaborated with the Department of Social Welfare for the enrollment of children into Kinder Paradise.

Despite catering for the children through basic school and sometimes to Secondary and Tertiary levels, the school is looking to extension and a possible housing of more children with the right funding.

Call for financial support

Silke Roesner, the Founder, and Director from Germany has called for support from corporate entitles to help sustain the project and hope of extending its tentacles to accommodate more children.

She commended donors and sponsors for their help over the years and explained that more lives will be touched if more corporate bodies will come on board to support them.

“I want to thank our donors and sponsors over the years for the support but I believe with more sponsors on board, we can touch more lives.

“We have plans of extending the place to accommodate more underprivileged children who don’t have opportunities in life,” she said.
