BOST board brief workers on resignation of MD George Okley and announce Edwin Provencal as successor
The Board of Directors of the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Limited (BOST) has announced to the workers union a new Managing Director as a replacement to Mr George Mensah Okley who resigned from the position last Friday.
The announcement on Monday [August 26, 2016] was at an emergency meeting of the board.

Sources close to the meeting told Graphic Online that the union was briefed about the recent developments and also told about the decision of President Akufo-Addo to replace Mr Okley with one Mr Edwin Provencal who presently serves as a Technical Advisor to the Minister of Energy, Mr John Peter Amewu.

Monday’s meeting was chaired by the Board Chairman, Mr Ekow Hackman.
While the reasons for Mr Okley’s resignation was not officially communicated to the workers, sources told Graphic Online it was linked to a construction contract on a vehicle terminal at the company's Buipe Depot.
The land grading contract sum, said to have initially been pegged at about GHc4 million by a contractor and approved by the company's board was renegotiated to GHc90,000 after Mr Okley reportedly engaged a new contractor for the said land grading works, a situation deep throat sources say did not go down well with some people necessitating the need for Mr Okley to resign from the post.
Meanwhile speaking to Graphic Online after the meeting, the Board Chairman, Mr Ekow Hackman confirmed the resignation and however ruled out the allegations of financial malfeasance in relation to the award of contracts.
He said the Board at a meeting today [August 26, 2019] met the senior management and the leadership of the workers Union at separate meetings to brief them about the new developments which included the appointment of a new MD.
When he was asked about the GHc4 million land clearing contract, Mr Hackman said that the issue has not come to the attention of the board.
"In fact, we don't know where it is coming from", he said.
He further said, "the project in question may be under procurement but the board is presently not aware", Mr Hackman said.
He called on the general public to be assured that operations are underway in the company.
"We will, however, issue a statement in due course on the developments," Mr Hackman said.
