'Bola taxis' cautioned against dumping refuse along Accra-Tema motorway

The Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, Joseph Kofi Adda has cautioned operators of refuse collecting tricycles popularly called “Bola Taxis” against dumping of refuse along the Accra-Tema motorway and other highways in the country.

According to the minister, stringent measures have been instituted to monitor the motorway and other highways and that any 'bola taxi' found dumping refuse indiscriminately will be arrested and prosecuted.

Mr Adda gave the warning in a press statement he issued Wednesday afternoon in Accra.

He also disclosed that the Kpone landfill site us to be opened for 24 hours from beginning Thursday June 21, to ensure that waste is disposed off at the site at all times.
