Opoku said in an interview on Joy FM that, he in the company of the BNI officials also went to his hometown in Dadeaso in the Western Region to ascertain the state of mind of his brother.

Charles Antwi was Tuesday slapped with a 10-year jail term by the Accra Circuit Court for confessing he had the intent to kill President Mahama after he was arrested with a fully loaded gun at the Ringway Gospel Centre of the Assemblies of God Church in Accra on Sunday.

The prosecutor, DSP Mr A. A. Annor had prayed the court for a remand warrant for investigations to continue.

However, during questioning by the trial judge, Justice Francis Obiri, Antwi said he had, prior to the demise of Prof. John Evans Mills, wanted to be President, but was unlucky when President Mahama was rather sworn in as Head of State.

He confessed he had visited the President’s church four times in his bid to kill him, causing Justice Obiri to immediately convict him even though he did not have a lawyer.
