Bishop calls for honesty in national life

The Right Reverend Francis Benjamin Quashie, Bishop of the Koforidua Diocese of the Anglican Church, has called on public office holders to promote honesty to ensure equity and fairness.

He said despite the abundant resources in Ghana, many people wallowed in poverty because there was no honesty in the public service.

Bishop Quashie said the financial malpractices cited in the Auditor General’s report and issues surrounding the payment of judgement debts were a source of concern.

He was speaking at the ground breaking ceremony for the construction of GH¢ 301,000 Manse for the Obo Saint Paul Anglican Church.

The two-storey house to be constructed in phases would provide accommodation for the local priest and also serve as offices for the church.
