Food and beverage manufacturer, Blow Chem Industries Ltd, has re-launched its flagship products Bel-Aqua and Yum-mie Instant Noodles in Kumasi.

The launch was heralded by the inauguration of a 100,000 tonne capacity warehouse at Daaban, a suburb of Kumasi.

Improved distribution

According to the Commercial Manager of Blow Chem, Mr Ruben Kordorwu, the warehouse and re-launch were meant to bring the company's quality products closer to cherished customers in Kumasi, surrounding communities in the Ashanti Region, as well as the northern part of the country.

"Blow Chem Industries Ltd prioritises the Kumasi market and has, therefore, invested significantly towards bringing our products closer to customers in the Ashanti Region and beyond," he added.

Improved service delivery to customers

There are existing bottlenecks with transporting products all the way from Tema to Kumasi such as high cost of transportation, resulting in damage of goods and unbearable delays in delivery time. However, Mr Kordorwu stressed that those challenges would be put behind with the new facility in place.

"Distributors will no longer have to travel all the way to Accra to buy Bel-Aqua or Yum-mie Instant Noodles as the newly-opened depot has the capacity to hold 100,000 cartons, enough to meet demand in the region," he stated.

He added that the new facility also offered an opportunity for the company to meet its objective of increasing the supply of the two products in the region.

Opportunity for new distributors

Additionally, the depot is also an opportunity to engage new distributors who would wish to do business with the company.

"The company believes that although existing distributors have done their best to serve the demands of customers in the region, there are more grounds to be covered, hence our willingness to give interested distributors the needed support to come on board," Mr Kordorwu stated.

Yum-mie Instant Noodles, which comes in six flavours, is the first noodles brand to be manufactured locally.

New line

The commercial manager also hinted that Blow Chem would inaugurate a multi-million euro carbonated soft drinks plant in Tema by the end of next month.

Mr Kordorwu expressed gratitude to the people of Kumasi for their immense patronage of the brand, urging them to continue supporting made-in-Ghana products, saying: "That is one sure way of improving the economic fortunes of the country."
