Bekwai: Dess FM news caster killed

The police in Bekwai are investigating the suspected murder of a 31-year-old newscaster of DESS FM, a community radio station in Bekwai in Ashanti.

Ms Ama Agyeiwaa Kodie, was found dead in a pool of blood in her house at Bekwai around 6pm on Sunday, April 15, 2018.

The deceased is said to have died from stab wounds from her assailants.

The Bekwai District Police Commander, Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP Edward Boateng, who confirmed the incident said the police were yet to make any arrest and that investigations were ongoing.

Ms Kodie popularly known as Portia, aside working as a newscaster, was also the front desk officer of the radio station.

A statement signed by the General Manager of the station, Mr Gordon Donkor, said they were saddened by the murder of their staff and appealed to the public to help with information to arrest the perpetrators of the act.
