'Attacks on Tsatsu Tsikata is unfortunate'

Chris AckumeyThe Lawyers in Search of Democracy (LINSOD) has said the indecent haste with which some lawyers have launched attacks on Mr Tsatsu Tsikata was unfortunate.

The group regards the recent pronouncement by Sam Okudzeto, Anthony Forson and Frank Davies as made in their individual capacities and not reflective of the views of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA).

A statement signed by Chris Ackummey, on behalf of LINSOD and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Thursday said it expects the GBA to ensure that any pronouncement made in its name should conform to its principles and not in pursuance of any political agenda.

“We shall at all times ensure that our contributions to national affairs are balanced and objective. We shall also seek common cause with persons and groupings whose contributions to national interest reflect a similar approach,” it added.

The statement reminded all that respect for individual human rights, the rule of law, tolerance of others views and respect for the 1992 Constitution must be the key in all deliberations.
