Asa Savings donates to two organisations

A financial services provider, Asa Savings and Loans Company Limited, has donated some assorted items to two organisations as part of its corporate society responsibility to the society.

They are the Ghana Society for the Physically Disabled in Accra and the Rev. Father John Special Unit at Winneba in the Central Region.

“The items included footballs, disinfectants, toilet rolls and four wheel chairs,” a statement issued by the company said.
It said the Branch Manager of the Winneba Business Centre of the company, Mr James Annan Marley, said the disabled society had been a major

part of the company’s success society, “hence, giving back to foster a closer relationship”.

“Healthy minds live in healthy bodies, therefore, we believe if our clients are healthy and supported, they can go about their own businesses or expand their existing ones as well as meet their financial obligations,” it said.

The statement said the main focus of the company was to provide financial services to the people in the informal sector who could not secure financial assistance either to establish their own businesses or expand their businesses.

“In 2018, Asa Savings and Loans undertook medical screening (Malaria, Hepatitis B, blood pressure, diabetes, general screening with free medicines and distribution of mosquito nets), borehole construction and donations in communities benefitting 9,231 people at the cost of GHC 157,025,” it said, It addedthat “this year the company has budgeted GHC 535,000 to support the different communities in which we operate by providing mechanised boreholes for communities which lack access to clean and safe water, scholarship awards to needy but brilliant students”.
