AN architectural, interior and exterior design magazine, Scene Catalogue, has been launched in Accra.Launching the magazine, Mr S.M Quartey, Principal Architect of Atelier Architects, expressed the hope that the new magazine would enhance the image of Ghanaian architects and educate Ghanaians on architecture and the relevance of the architectural services and products on the local market.
He expressed the hope that the purpose of the magazine, which is to bridge the gap in the housing knowledge of consumers in the building industry, would be achieved.
Scene Catalogue
Scene Catalogue, he said, was one of the many magazines out there, but the first of its kind in Ghana.
Miss Abena Anima Adjei, the Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of the magazine, who is also an architect, said the magazine was intended to throw more light on architecture and its related issues.
Ms Adjei said, “I am delighted that we have managed to launch the first Ghana Architectural/Interior magazine. The profession of architecture in Ghana has been on the downturn for some time now just because Ghanaians have not been well informed about the services of architects and this is evident in the nature of our built environment. Scene Catalogue is here to bridge that gap.”
The editor-in-chief added that the magazine featured works of local architects, interior finishes and furnishing found on the local market and advice on interior space, exteriors and landscaping.
The launch of the magazine was sponsored by Water Comfort (Sanitary wares), Imperial Homes, Atelier Architects, Arch Xenus and A2Z interiors.
The first three copies of the magazine was bought at GH¢5,000 each.
