The items were presented Tuesday [May 19, 2020] by the Research Officer of Alhaji Farouk's campaign team, Mr Ibrahim Sualisu.

In a speech read on his behalf, Alhaji Farouk said the gesture formed part of his social responsibility to his people.

He said as a son of the area, he would continue to do what he could to assist his people.

He admonished Muslims to endeavour to share with the needy in their communities as many people were going through hard times because of the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

Alhaji Farouk also appealed to Muslims to always pray for peace and unity in the Yendi area and the country as a whole.

Appreciation

The Northern Regional Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Rashid COP, who received the items on behalf of the beneficiaries thanked Alhaji Farouk for the gesture.

Alhaji Farouk Mahama is contesting the parliamentary primary of the NPP in the Yendi Constituency.

The incumbent NPP Member of Parliament for the area, Tijani Habibu Mohammad has decided not to seek re-election.

Farouk is, therefore, contesting the seat with two other aspirants, Alhaji Osman Baba Daney, a former Finance Officer of the Northern Regional Coordinating Council and Hajia Abibata Shani Mahama Zakaria, a Deputy Chief Executive Officer of MASLOC.
