Accra Platinum Lions Club supports Trinity Home Academy
The Accra Platinum Lions Club as part of activities to mark the Christmas celebration supported Trinity Home Academy in Akuapem Tutu with items worth GH¢10,000.
The items included toys, foodstuff, toiletries and learning materials to enhance their academic work. They also marked the festive occasion with them sharing food and drinks and engaging in talent shows.

Supporting the less priviledged
The President of the club, Mrs Florence Sarfo said she was highly delighted that the club had been able to put smiles on the faces of the children.
She said the activity had been part of their programme line-up for each year to ensure that the less priviledged in the society were able to have a joyous Christmas celebration.
“Our sole purpose as a club is to serve humanity and that is exactly what we are doing here today. These children are our future and we must not marginalise them, else they may one day take to the streets and engage in all forms of social vices which may end up affecting all of us,” Mrs Sarfo said.

She also admonished the children to focus on their books by reading more, saying that was the surest way they could achieve their dreams.
“Do not undermine yourselves, you can do anything you wish to do, as far you are focused and determined to achieve it, you can be like any great person in this world irrespective of your situation, many great people also started like you”, she added.
The president also commended the caretakers for their selfless service to ensure that the vulnerable children were cared for and protected.
Gratitude
The proprietress of the home, Mrs Sophia Tsui Alabi expressed her profound gratitude to the club for extending help to the children. She said that was a thoughtful move and it was going to ensure that the children were not left out in the festive occasion.
“We would like to thank you all for your kind effort, you have removed a huge burden from our head because it was our worry as to how we were going to make these children also enjoy the Christmas celebration. You have done enough with the items you brought and also feasting with us,” she said.
Other challenges
Mrs Alabi also took the opportunity to plead with other corporate institutions and philanthropists to also help them with support, explaining that the school had about 110 children under care but there weren’t enough facilities to support their needs.
“Our classrooms are in a deplorable state, we are also faced with financial constraint which has made feeding all these children and payment of our staff a huge challenge, there are also other uncompleted classrooms that we need financial support to complete,” she stated.
“People have always been supportive of us but just as Oliver Twist would do, we ask for more since the needs of the children are our major priority. We need support to make sure these challenges will be a thing of the past,” Mrs Alabi added.
