Ablekuma West Municipal Assembly supports PWDs with tools

The Ablekuma West Municipal Assembly led by the Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. George Cyril Bray has held a programme to donate items to persons with disability within the municipality.

The programme was organized by the Social Welfare and Community Development department (SWCD) of the assembly and was the second to be organized this year.

Items estimated at GH¢90,000 ranging from freezers, industrial sewing machines, grinding machines, baking ovens, desktop computers and provisions among other items were donated to the individuals.

Ninety individuals with disability have thus far benefited from the program.

The SWCD has registered about 140 persons with disability within the Municipality and is looking forward to registering more members.

According to George Cyril Bray, the intervention for the persons with disability was in line with the Assembly’s vision to empower these individuals.

The programme was held at the Old Assembly premises, Gbegbeyise Basic school.
