AAG honours three personalities
The immediate past Managing Director of the Graphic Communications Group Limited, Mr Kenneth Ashigbey, has received a special award at the 11th AAG Awards held in Accra over the weekend.

The award was in recognition for his demonstrated commitment to the growth of the advertising industry and consistent support for the work of the Advertising Association of Ghana (AAG).
Mr Ashigbey was also commended for giving the AAG media platforms to reach out to the world while showing great interest and support for the Advertising Bill, which is currently under consideration.
A former Vice-President of the AAG, Mr Sil Kuwornu, also received the Distinguished Personality Award for his dedication to the work of the AAG while Mr Noble Kwasi Agyeman Asare received a posthumous Distinguished Personality Award for his selfless service and dedication to the AAG.
At the awards, the President of the AAG, Mr Joel Edmund Nettey, said the advertising industry needed to probe for insights about human behaviour and create campaigns that reflect the realities of society and inspire a picture of what society ought to be.
“We are at the stage where consumer dynamics are fast changing, technology is driving more curiosity and people have become more enquiring. Thus advertisements essentially need to be reflective of these dynamics and must necessarily drive social change,” he said.
Mr Nettey further noted that the purpose of advertising was to contribute to the success of businesses, and to reward creativity and strategic thinking that had been developed locally and added value to local businesses.
Award winners
Rezultz Advertising emerged the biggest winner on the night, taking nine awards which include one platinum, four gold and four silver awards.
Innova DDB was the other big winner of the night with seven awards. Other winners included Now Available Africa, Public is West Africa, Ogilvy and Mather Ghana, Insel Communications and Scanad Ghana.
