The Minister of State in Charge of Tertiary Education, Professor Kwesi Yankah, last Tuesday toured some selected basic schools in Accra to mark “My First Day at School”.

He was accompanied by representatives of the Ghana Education Service (GES), the National Inspectorate Board (NIB) and officials from the Ministry of Education.

The visit took the minister and his team to the Legon Staff Village Basic School and La Bawalashie Presbyterian A’ B’ & C schools.

Prof. Yankah encouraged the pupils to take their academic work seriously, be punctual at school and play their part as pupils with a greater future and responsibilities to Ghana.

He also interacted with teachers in the schools and tasked them to put in their best in the delivery of their professional services to mother Ghana.

The minister donated school uniforms, packs of crayons, pencils, erasers, books and packs of fruit juice and biscuits to the pupils in each of the schools he visited.

At both schools, the pupils and teachers expressed their gratitude to the minister.
