WAEC begins Private BECE registration

WAEC opens registration for 2018 private BECE candidates

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has opened the registration process for the 2018 Basic Education Certificate Examination private candidates.

According to WAEC, the registration period is from October2, 2017 to November 30, 2018 and has therefore asked candidates to try and complete the registration before the deadline.

WAEC in a public notice published in the Monday edition of the Daily Graphic newspaper said as part of the registration, prospective candidates should log on to the WAEC website www.waecgh.org for further explanation before proceeding to the biometric.

It said candidates should capture their fingerprints at internet cafes with requisite equipment to begin the registration and can therefore continue the registration process anywhere on their own after the capture of fingerprints.

it said without the fingerprints of the bonafide candidate, the registration is null and void.

On eligibility, it said candidates who previously sat for BECE but could not make the required grades and first timers must be 16 years and above.

WAEC advised school candidates not to enter the examination since it was illegal and added that since it was a private examination, candidates would not receive any subsidy from government.
