The TV Room, dubbed: “The Pitch”, is a 250-seating capacity auditorium with a LED flat screen television to serve as a learning and recreational centre for the university.

Beyond playing a crucial role in imparting knowledge to students, the facility is to help prevent students from going outside the campus to watch TV programmes, including football matches.

Saham Life Insurance is an insurance group operating in about 28 African countries, including Ghana, with its headquarters in Morocco. It also has offices in Asia, the Middle East and Europe.

The group undertakes both life and general insurance policies and also offers innovative society-first solutions to all insurance needs.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Saham Life Ghana Limited, Mrs Gifty Alabi-Fiagbe, said the gesture was to help bring the university up to speed in the dissemination of information electronically.

The renovation follows a request by the Students Representative Council (SRC) of the university.

“This facility is proof of the Saham Group’s commitment to give back to its partners and all stakeholders who believe in its brand,” she said.

Mrs Alabi-Fiagbe announced a number of tailor-made products to secure the future of the youth, including students.

She called for the proper maintenance of the facility to encourage the company to do more for the university.
