Speaking at the donation event, Kurtis Kudjo, the founder of the project expressed his excitement at the opportunity to give back to young children.

He said, “as an organization, we are very much interested in the well-being and creative development of these children and have taken it upon ourselves to support them because we (myself and my brother) grew up here and we know how gifted the people of Agotime-Kpetoe are with the craft of Kente weaving.”

He added that they want to share their experiences, funding, and contact opportunities with these children which will include skills training and creative development in the area of Sports and Arts.

Mr Gideon Agbeli, Youth Chief and one of the local representatives in charge of identifying and organizing the children for the donation commended the OneChalé team and volunteers for this kind gesture and encouraged them to do more in the coming years.

He added that most children could barely afford basic clothing and educational materials to facilitate their educational endeavours and that this donation will go a long way to help them and their parents.

Aside from the donations, the children were also given food and drinks and participated in the creative challenge where they were grouped and encouraged to sketch, and colour in their new sketchbooks.

This year’s edition was supported and partnered by organizations such as Kariandgo, mNotify Co. Ltd, Leeds Pharmacy Ltd, Petr & Saints Co. Ltd, Wellnest Ghana Ltd &  AFB Golden Enterprise.
