The Ghana Education Service (GES) has cancelled the two-day mid-term break for basic schools scheduled for November 5 and 6, 2026, as part of efforts to recover instructional hours lost during the recent industrial action.
In a statement issued by the Service and signed by Daniel Fenyi of GES Headquarters, the management explained that all basic schools are expected to open and conduct normal academic activities on Thursday, November 5, and Friday, November 6, 2026, instead of observing the scheduled break.
The Service has advised teachers, students, parents, guardians and the general public to take note of the change and be guided accordingly.
"Thank you for your cooperation and continued commitment to quality education," the statement added.
