New headmaster for Bechem Presby SHS inducted
The new Headmaster of the Bechem Presbyterian Senior High School in the Brong Ahafo Region, Mr Raymond Agyeman, has been inducted into office with a call on heads of educational institutions to refrain from collecting monies to admit unqualified students into their schools.

The Chairperson of the Brong Ahafo Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), Reverend Kwadwo Owusu Sarpong, who made the call, said such a practice denied qualified needy students their rightful chance to gain admission into their preferred schools.
He was delivering a sermon at the Good Shepherd Congregation of the PCG at Bechem to induct Mr Agyeman into office.
Corrupt heads of schools
Rev. Sarpong deplored what he described as ‘corrupt practices’ perpetuated by some students in connivance with some heads of schools through the falsification of documents for admission and called for measures to ensure that such practices were nipped in the bud.
“The collection of monies by some school heads in order to admit students who do not qualify for admission is denying the country the chance of using its right human resource to enhance its development.
“You are taking charge of this school at a time attention has been focused on corruption in the country. We hope you will work hard to leave a legacy that will stand the test of time”, he said.
Judicial scandal
Rev. Sarpong used the occasion to touch on the alleged judicial corruption scandal that recently made news in the country, and asked Ghanaians to rather fear God who is Omnipresent and sees through all the corners of the world and be content with their income.
Acceptance speech
Responding, Mr Agyeman thanked the PCG and the Brong Ahafo Regional Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES) for giving him the mandate to govern the school.
He pledged to work hard to improve academic performance, as well as discipline in the school in line with the rich moral values of the Presbyterian Church.
