May’s Educational Centre holds graduation

The Director of the May’s Day Care and Educational Centre, at Dansoman in Accra, Mrs Efua Bram-Larbi, has urged the graduates of the school to ensure that the quality education they had received would be evident in their daily lives.

“Let everyone, who comes into contact with you gain something beneficial and let your families and the community gain positively from the quality of education you have received,” she added.

Mrs Bram-Larbi said this at the 25th anniversary and graduation ceremony of the school at the weekend. 

It was on the theme: “Quality Education; a Gain for all”. 

A total of 41 pupils and students graduated from the day care class, junior high school class and the pre-school caregivers class.

She said, as part of the school’s anniversary celebration, a number of activities have been initiated, including a health walk, inter-school quiz competition, inter-school parade competition and a thanksgiving service.

The Director said one of the challenges facing the school was the terrible condition of the roads leading to the school The management has contacted the authorities and plans were far advanced to ensure it is fixed, she added.

She appealed to benevolent organisations, potential business partners to contact the school and identify ways they could contribute towards the development of the school.

Mr Khaleed el Hossiny, Cultural Attaché at the Embassy of Egypt in Ghana expressed the hope that Ghana and Egypt would cooporate and collaborate to improve education in their respective countries.

He said to achieve quality education; there should be conducive environment, with rich content for teaching and learning.  

Mr Eric Don Arthur, a parent, urged fellow parents to develop interest in their children education and spend time with them.  

Special awards for academic excellence were given to the deserving pupils and students.
