About 500 students benefited from the initiative which is an annual education donation drive of the NGO.

Apart from the educational materials, Marwilak Foundation also donated sanitary pads to the female students.

Rationale

The President of Marwilak Foundation, Willington Amankwa Marfo, said the foundation was formed to promote the welfare of children by embarking on initiatives and working with stakeholders to ensure that children had the best of opportunities to realise their potentials.

He said many children who were supposed to be natured and provided with safety nets to achieve their dreams had been abandoned with little or no support, a situation which could negatively impact their future and well-being.

Support

Mr Marfo said his outfit, with support from friends and other well-wishers, decided to donate the books and other educational materials to the pupils of Natriku to encourage them to pursue their education with zeal and enthusiasm.

According to him, education was the bedrock of any successful society and was also a leveller that created opportunities for the marginalised.

“Education can pull people out of poverty and is the best investment any society can give to its people.

We must, therefore, endeavour to support the education at all levels, especially the one relating to children,” he said.

Mr Marfo lauded friends, volunteers and all individuals who supported the initiative with their resources, time and prayers.
