The Director-General of the Cyber Security Authority (CSA), Dr Divine Selase Agbeti, has urged graduates of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) to make the right attitude and continuous learning key to building successful careers.
He said academic qualifications were important, but a graduate’s attitude, commitment and willingness to learn would determine how effectively they navigated the workplace and responded to challenges.
Dr Agbeti was speaking at the second session of the 18th Congregation of UPSA in Accra, held for graduates of the Faculty of Information Technology and Communication Studies.
He described the certificates awarded to the graduates as “a ticket to endless opportunities” and urged them to approach the next stage of their lives with resilience, responsibility and a positive mindset.
Dr Agbeti said graduates entering the job market should not be discouraged by limited employment opportunities, stressing that dedication, quality work and the willingness to gain experience could help them secure opportunities and progress in their careers.
He said the right attitude involved taking ownership of tasks, following procedures, accepting responsibility for decisions and taking calculated risks.
“Do not stop learning,” he said, urging the graduates to commit themselves to continuous learning and innovation, particularly as technology and artificial intelligence continued to transform the world of work.
He also encouraged them to seek mentors and remain patient as they developed professionally, saying challenges should be treated as opportunities for growth rather than stumbling blocks.
Graduation
The Vice-Chancellor of UPSA, Professor J.K.M. Mawutor, said the university was graduating 5,180 students across four ceremonies of the 18th Congregation.

He urged the graduates to use their knowledge to solve real-world problems, build businesses and create opportunities for others, rather than seeing themselves only as job seekers.
