Polytanks Ghana launches “EduAid” to support schoolchildren

Polytanks Ghana, producers of water storage tanks and packaging products, has launched an education support initiative to provide essential school supplies, including exercise books and water bottles to pupils in selected communities across the country.

Known as the EduAid initiative, Polytanks Ghana intends to leverage on the project to distribute water bottles to lower primary pupils and exercise books to upper primary and junior high school students in selected communities.

Targeted schools

The company is, therefore, targeting a minimum of twenty- five schools with 200,000 exercise books and 10,000 water bottles every academic year.

The Media Relations Manager of Polytanks Ghana, Moudline Duodua- Gyan, said the provision of the water bottles was intended to encourage regular hydration among younger pupils and promote healthy habits which would inure to their comfort, concentration and overall well- being.

She said the exercise books were also intended to help ease some of the financial pressure families faced at the dawn of a new academic year.

Ms Gyan said the initiative reflected Polytanks Ghana’s broader commitment to supporting the well-being of Ghanaian families and their communities.

She said as a generational brand, Polytanks Ghana seeks to be more than a trusted partner when families build homes, establish businesses or seek practical solutions.

Milestones

She said the company also strove to remain relevant through the important milestones that shaped lives.

“Polytanks is more than a product that has been present in Ghanaian homes for generations.

We have grown alongside families, witnessed their milestones and become part of everyday life. EduAid is an expression of that relationship and we want to be part of the journey of the next generation by supporting them as they learn, grow and build their future,” she added.

Ms Gyan said “It is our small but meaningful contribution to helping children begin the school year with confidence and the tools they need to learn.”

Donation

At the Tema West Municipal Assembly (TWMA) cluster of schools at Batsonaa and the Ashaiman Number Two Junior High School where the company presented books and water bottles to the schools as part of the EduAid, the Headmistress of the Baatsona TWMA Primary School, Naomi Damptey, described the programme as a timely intervention which would support the students, some of whom had not got books since the school resumed.

The Deputy Director in charge of Supervision and Monitoring at the Tema West Municipal Education Office, Abena Mensah-Brown, also lauded the EduAid initiative, and said it must be sustained to provide regular support to students and their families.
