The Shalom D Susu Enterprise has presented over 11,200 exercise books to the Kwashieman Anglican Junior High School in Accra to support students in their academic work.
The move is aimed at motivating the students and helping to ease the financial burden on parents with the commencement of the new academic year.
Presenting the items last Wednesday, the Manager of Shalom D Susu Enterprise, Rev. Peter Ankrah Doodoo, said the organisation, which had operated for 33 years, thought it should give back to society to help in the development of children.
Copies
“We are here with 11,200 copies of exercise books that would be distributed to the children.
Our prayer is that we want to make the burden a little lighter for your parents.
While we do that, it is our prayer that you too would help your parent by learning,” he said.
He said once the children had decided to take their studies seriously, there were many people who were out there to support them.
The head teachers of the Kwashieman Anglican JHS thanked the organisation for the support and indicated that it would go a long way to help the parents and guardians.
Management
The head teacher of Anglican JHS A, Bertha Dowuona-Hammond, said the management was grateful for the support.
She prayed for God’s blessings for the organisation.
For her part, the head teacher of the Anglican JHS B, Comfort Hehemeku, said the exercise books would help both teachers and learners.
She said it was sad that sometimes in the fifth and sixth week some students reported to school with no exercise books.
