"We write at the instance of the Honourable Minister of Education, requesting you not to pay monthly salary and allowances for the month of August 2023 to the teaching Staff of all 46 Colleges of Education (CETAG)", a letter from the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) to the Controller and Accountant General said.

CETAG members embarked on an indefinite strike to push the government to implement negotiated conditions of service.

CETAG has said it was on strike because of the Ministry of Education's non-compliance with the National Labour Commission’s order to implement the negotiated conditions of service from May 2, 2023.
