GES warns teachers against paying for promotion

The Ghana Education Service has cautioned candidates participating in the ongoing teacher promotion exercise against paying money to individuals under the pretext of securing automatic promotion.

In a press release issued on November 3 and signed by Head of Public Relations Daniel Fenyi, the Service said it has received reports that some unscrupulous individuals are fraudulently demanding money from candidates.

"Management wishes to state categorically that no payment or financial inducement is required or will guarantee promotion. The process is transparent and purely merit-based. Therefore, candidates should not pay monies to anyone," the statement read.

The GES wished all staff who satisfied the eligibility criteria and are participating in the promotion examination the very best of luck, encouraging them to approach the exercise with confidence, dedication, and a positive attitude.

Any staff member who encounters such solicitations or has information about these activities is encouraged to report to the police.
