The Ghana Education Service has released the Capitation Grant for the first term of the 2026/2027 academic year, transferring funds to the various accounts of the District Education Directorates for onward disbursement to schools.
In a notice dated October 16, the GES said the funds transfer to the district accounts includes the Sports and Culture component for District Offices.
However, the Regional (Sports and Culture) components have been transferred to the various designated accounts of the Regional offices.
Regional Directors have been requested to ensure that the funds are transferred to the schools on or before Friday, October 30, 2026, to enable Heads of Basic Schools to operate seamlessly.
The Service noted that a team from Headquarters will be going to the regions for monitoring in the first week of November 2026, and urged Regional Directors to ensure the funds are transferred to the schools immediately.
