Family Health University College admits fresh students
The Family Health University College (FHUC) in Accra has admitted 356 fresh students.

Aside from that, the institution graduated a total of 109 students who had pursued various courses.
This was made known during the matriculation and graduation ceremony organised by the Medical School and School of Nursing and Midwifery.
Breakdown
At the event, a total of 56 freshers matriculated for medical sciences while 27 members of the 2022 medical school class graduated with BSc in Medical Sciences.
In addition, 329 freshers matriculated for nursing and midwifery.
Out of the number, 258 will pursue BSc Nursing and Midwifery Programme with 71 others undertaking the Nurse Assistant Clinical (NAC) Programme.
A total of 27 BSc Nursing and BSc Midwifery as well as 55 Nurse Assistant Clinical students graduated.
Speaking at the ceremony, a former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Professor Ernest Aryeetey, commended the founders of Family Health University College (FHUC), Professor Enyonam Yao Kwawukume and Dr Susu Bridget Kwawukume, for their vision to improve healthcare education in the country.
According to him, the two have ventured into medical education, a field that was hitherto unheard of for the private sector, and through diligence and persistence their vision had materialised, with many people benefiting and becoming nurses and doctors to provide invaluable services to society.

Prof. Aryeetey challenged the graduates to use their acquired knowledge and skills from the school to make a positive impact in society.
He said education was the catalyst for development, and one of the best ways of breaking barriers and creating opportunity for all .
He, therefore, urged the students to see their education as a stepping stone for greater things in their lives and an opportunity to build a good future for themselves.
Again, he called on the graduates to discharge themselves positively in all endeavours to become good ambassadors not only for their career but also for the FHUC.
For his part, the President of FHUC, Prof. Yao Kwawukume, said the school had a comprehensive educational curriculum to ensure that students were well equipped for the challenges of the healthcare profession.
He said that the experienced and competent faculty and administrators were always willing to assist the students to develop in the knowledge and skills that they would need to succeed.
He advised the graduates to go forth in a spirit of diligence and resilience, remembering to use their time wisely, and also to take leadership roles when the opportunity presented itself.
